Top Staffordshire Chef Calls on Shropshire hospitality Marketing Specialists

Chef Nigel Dobson of the Old School House Restaurant Staffordshire Top Staffordshire Chef Calls on Shropshire specialist to help launch new Restaurant venture.

A top Staffordshire Chef who is investing almost £1/4 million in a new restaurant has called upon a Shropshire based hospitality marketing specialist to help create the new brand and market the venue to the region.

Much respected Chef Nigel Dobson, owner of the Old School House in Weeford near Lichfield has called upon the services of Shropshire based Leisure Marketing Midlands LTD, who specialise in marketing some of the regions finest restaurants. Chef Patron Nigel Dobson, whose family has owned the Old School House for over 25 years, is investing nearly £250,000 of his own money to help transform the venue, and create  a new restaurant brasserie concept, to compete with the many brands that have been set up in the area, and help bring the venue into 2013 with a bang, employing up to ten new staff.

“I have been considering the investment for some time and since my dad and business partner passed away last year, I thought it’s now time to have a fresh new to the Old School House, so we carried out a great deal of research, and wanting the best in the region, we contacted James Day of Leisure Marketing Midlands LTD who is well known in the area for supporting Chefs and high end restaurants. His fresh approach to marketing was a breath of fresh air, speaking our language with no agency jargon, and bringing in many of his contacts – we then launched an appeal for a new name involving our loyal regulars, which has brought up some great ideas. James and his team have helped with the concept and the designers have created some exciting visuals – we can’t wait to launch it later this month”

New jobs will be created during £200,000 plus renovation on the 112 year old building, set in 11 acres of meadow land – A popular wedding venue. The renovation will include a complete interior refurbishment, as well as featuring the brand new name for the restaurant. The Old School House - which started life as a primary school at the turn of the Century - serviced the local children for 60 years before being converted into a guesthouse.

James Day added “We were delighted to hear from Nigel, I have been aware of the Old school House for some time, and to be asked to help create a new concept like this is a real honour – We like to offer a fresh approach to marketing, and due to my personal background I am able to relate to the needs of Chefs and owners of such venues. Nigel and his team are great to work with and I think what we have come up with will excite customers, whilst ensuring the reputation of Nigel and his team continues through maintaining the personal friendly service, whilst offering a more relaxed brassiere style environment – Nigel has also ensured that as many local and regional suppliers are helping create his new menus – I look forward to the opening and hearing the customer feedback”

Nigel concluded “It means a great deal to me to invest in the community - from locally sourced fresh produce, to our current renovation project - I feel it important to support local business during this tough, current economic climate as see this the perfect time to invest in this much loved property that has been in our family for many years – it’s time to put my own mark on the business. The style of food will be more relaxed, whilst keeping the same familiar service, and focus on quality ingredients, but the menu will be more ‘Brasserie style’ with sharing platters, light bites, alongside influences from my years of travelling around the world, as well as some of my favourite culinary haunts in the UK. We will also be specialising in fresh Fish – I loved going to Birmingham Market to source some of the freshest in the UK. Our customers tell us the new menu ideas are just what they are needing right now in what appears to be another year of austerity in 2013, but many want to return to familiar places with friends to enjoy good quality produce, served with a genuine smile.
